Description
Squash Seeds - Korean, Summer - King Ka Ae - Hybrid. Non-GMO. Cucurbita moschata. 55-70 days to maturity after transplanting. Warm season annual. Excellent tasty Korean summer squash. Fruits have smooth and shiny skin and best harvested when 5-6" long. Flesh is very dense and has a soft texture. Plants are semi-bush type. This variety can have a long growing season from under row cover to open field. Suitable growing temperatures range from 80-85 ?F. Squash prefers warm temperatures. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in spring/summer after last frost in a warm, sunny location. Hill planting: Form soil into a 1-ft. diameter mound 3-4" tall. Space mounds 3-4' apart. On each mound plant 1-2 seeds. Row planting: See spacing info in chart. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Train to climb a vertical support for better air circulation and ease of harvest or leave to sprawl on the ground. This is the Korean summer squash used to make hobak jeon (squash pancake). Prepare this squash like any summer squash. About 200 seeds per ounce.
